What we collect
- Order details — name, delivery and billing address, email, phone number and the items you buy. Needed to fulfil your order and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
- Payment — handled by our payment provider (Stripe). We receive confirmation and the last four digits of your card; we never store full card numbers.
- Account data — if you register, your login details and order history.
- Messages — anything you send us by email or through the contact form, so we can reply.
- Website usage — pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location, collected through cookies and analytics tools to keep the site working and improve it.
Why we use it (lawful basis)
- To process and deliver orders and handle returns — performance of a contract.
- To keep records of sales for tax purposes — legal obligation.
- To prevent fraud and keep the site secure — legitimate interests.
- To send marketing emails — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers needed to run the shop: our payment provider, couriers (name, address and phone number for delivery), our hosting provider (Hostinger) and email service, and analytics and advertising platforms (Google). They act on our instructions and cannot use your data for their own purposes, except where they are independent controllers such as Google. We never sell your data.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to run the basket and checkout, and, with your consent, analytics and advertising cookies (Google Analytics, Google Ads). You can manage these in your browser settings or through the cookie banner.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for 7 years to satisfy HMRC requirements. Account data is kept while your account is open. Marketing consent is kept until you withdraw it. Website logs are kept for up to 26 months.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your data, object to processing, or receive a copy in a portable format. Email contact@crownhomeuk.com and we will respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, payment is taken through a PCI-DSS compliant provider, and access to order data is limited to staff who need it.
